As you’ll see during the course, this lighting kit is easy to use and produces beautiful lighting. It just plugs right into the wall, is cool to the touch, and is safe to use around babies and kids.
(2) FJ Westcott 30″ 5-in-1 reflectors
I never go anywhere without my reflector!
(1) Lowepro Urban Reporter 150 Camera Bag A very smart-looking and practical camera bag. It holds quite a bit for being so small and it doesn’t scream out “camera bag.”
(3) copies of each of my books, Portrait and Candid Photography and Make Money with your Digital Photography.
Portrait and Candid Photography helps you capture beautiful pictures of people and Make Money with Your Digital Photography is an inspiring book that helps you figure out your photographic path in life.
My publisher, Wiley, is also offering a 40% discount on my books from October 25 – October 31! Kinda cool. Here’s the scoop on that: Save 40% on Portrait and Candid Photography 2nd edition with promo code EMCL1! you have brightened my inspiration on photography
you are reinforcing the basic ides that I did not fully understand
“Exposure compensation is just a really quick and easy way to change your exposure ”
I’ve always struggled with what / why / when I souls use EC. Now I get it… When I need it fixed quick!
Thanks for simplifying that for me Erin!
Love the mini portable reflector Erin Manning took out of her purse. I’ve got to get me one of those for my on the go photo shoots with my family and friends.
You don’t need expensive equipment to take great photos.
Information on the in camera metering in relation to the spot metering and alfocus setting. I’ve read the directions in many books and it just didn’t soak in. Win or not you’ve made it clear on the use for me. Thanks, Greg
I love your work and I watching with great interest all the work on creative live I do not want to miss a minute, I want to participate in the contest 🙂 thanks for everything and good luck further.
These are cool giveaways. Can’t wait to tweet inspired quotes!
You have made me to do the following
INSPIRE – ASPIRE – ACHIEVE
Thanks.
My favorite inspiration is my grandmother. She passed away when i was 10 years old. She was my inspiration to start taking pictures.
My inspiration is the way she teaches, “I teach photography in a down to earth way to help people easily understanding the techniques necessary to capture moments of their lives, beautifully”. She makes it seem fun, the learning does not have to be boring as it would be if I was just reading my camera manual. Seems very vivacious, friendly and takes her time to answer and explain all questions.
Erin Manning, is very down to earth and a wonderful teacher. I have been photographing for awhile but I am defiantly learning important tips to improve my photography.
I am becoming closer to getting out of auto and into Manual mode. Also loved the information on reading the SD card information.
Wonderful class! Awesome Instructor!
Wonderful inspiration in Photography!
Loving every minute of the class!
A rule of than is not to go below 1/60 second without a tripod. also loved the confidance that came from better understanding the exposer triangle. “Manual does not have to be scary.”
“1/250 of a second is starting to get fast.” That is a good referance number. I love how you encuraged people to play around and experiment a bit.
Awesome class & a brilliant Instructor. Thank you for the great course!
Today I really loved your lense lesson. Loved how you sifted through all the numbers & made it clear! Thank you! “knowing the rules, before you break them!” <3!
Using whats around you to help improve your photos LIke “using a tissue on the flash as a diffuser”.
I love the information about lens and what to look for with the 50mm, a telephoto and wide angle lens. The information is so valuable. Thanks
LET THERE BE LIGHT!
I think Erin is a great teacher. Experimenting and playing with settings to get that great shot. I’ve learned different ways to pose people and to help them loosen up.
Erin, I want to thank you so much for your class! I have been working on getting better and better at my photography for a few years now but you have opened my eyes up to some very basic things I did not know like how to set up a lightstand correctly. Sounds so easy but no one had ever shown me how to set it up! Also the explanation of why to tilt your chin down was really eye opening!!! No pun intended! I have an umbrella that I have never used but want to because of fear of not doing it correctly but with the lightbox you use with the constant light, it takes all the guesswork out which is so relieving to me! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!
What you said about connecting with the subject while doing their portraits clicked. Connecting through conversation relaxes people for a more natural photo.
I know I’m a newbie but I’ve never heard of using Program mode to check settings. Trying that right now.
It’s been a great class. Looking forward to more.
“Photoshop Elements is really fun”
“Automagic” That about sums it up!
“Photographing in the world is really a great thing”
Hello again!
Congratulations to the three days of work at creativelive, I watched everything I learned quite a few new things for that I thank you again. You expect a new issue.
All the best and good light.
Loved the broadcast! You present things in a very understandable way. So informative and engaging. Thank you!
I would love to get that green screen kit, would have fun with my Grandkids for old remember times for them yeah
thanks
Your the best Erin. You did a great job on Creative Live. I learned a lot about the different kind of lighting!!
Instead of just looking for the one perfect shot – tell a story! I am looking forward to my next opportunity to try that one.
I know it’s too late for the contests. The course I was signed up for had a failure during the class so I stumbled into your course and loved it! I had to buy it. I’ve nearly watched them all and find you so kind and thoughtful of those who are just learning. I know my husband who just got his first camera (nearly a point and shoot) will love your classes too. We are heading to Africa in a couple of weeks and can’t learn fast enough. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
I’m so happy to hear that you enjoyed the course! I really had fun teaching it. Your trip to Africa sounds exciting. I hope you have an amazing time and I bet your pictures turn out great 🙂
